We Fight Hunger Among Babies
According to WHO and UNICEF, one out of three African children is stunted. The current food system exports crops to Europe where they are transformed into formulas that are sold back in Africa at unaffordable prices for the poor and rural households. Our solution is to change the food system by transforming local organic crops into affordable formulas for our babies. Our vision is to use alt-protein to end babies malnutrition while empowering communities to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
We promote the farming of nutrient-rich, drought-resistant crops such as baobab, moringa, millet, and sorghum.
1
Impact: SDG 11
Building Sustainable communities through responsible farming.
We use mobile phone payment to buy crops directly from rural female farmers; cutting out the middlemen.
2
Impact: SDG 1 & 5
Reducing poverty; Promoting gender equality and women entrepreneurship.
Our innovative technology processes the crops into nutritious alt-protein formulas for babies and breastfeeding mothers.
3
Impact: SDG 9 & 12
Industry innovation and Responsible Production.
We deliver our affordable products to families in local communities.

Our Action against climate change
1
Climate-resilient agriculture
Baobaby promotes farming practices and crops that are included in the Vision for Adapted Crops and Soil a US Government initiative promoting sustainable food production based on local crops.
2
Improving communities' adaptation
By using these climate resilient crops as ingredients we empower female farmers by increasing their revenue by 50% to 150%. This process also increase their productivity and ensure food security despite the shifting climate.
3
Saving the planet
Baobaby's supply chain uses ten times less freshwater compared to milk-based formulas. For every child fed with Baobaby's formulas for a year, we are avoiding 0.5 tons of CO2 in the atmosphere.
